Brain rental – New product for sale??

Earlier this month over breakfast I was reading an article in the KW Record  called “Renting brains to solve tough problems”.  The article originated with a Bloomberg Technologies posting in the Tech stream of their website. The article highlighted Xinova, a company who has pulled together 10,000 inventors all with specialized skills to work together as a group.  Talk about herding cats!  What they do, however, is perhaps the antithesis of herding.

Their main strength is in fact the extreme diversity of their team. How fantastic! No one brain thinking alike to another. So many possibilities for uncovering a new and unique approach previously unseen, Xinova drew together one of the most diverse spectrums of skills from metallurgical gurus to professional scientists. Their pool of diverse and different experience an knowledge gives them a truly unique way to create new and innovative ideas and approaches to solve issues.

Think of the business problems that could be resolved with the help of a network of experts!

No more forcing a singular ‘in the box’ way of thinking or training. Xinova is capitalizing on difference for profit. Is this different?  Yes.  Can others do similarly? Why not! It is just approaching a challenge from a new perspective.

I think this new paradigm of thinking has huge merit. The only barrier still remaining for adoption in a wider sense within the business community is what Xinova has indicated:  You need to get out there and show them why this is good for them.  Eventually the use of experienced individuals to resolve short and long term problems will become known to everyone. Until then, companies will have to find their own way.

When you need a guide to help you navigate the ever-changing business issues and challenges of the day, we’re here to help.
